There are a lot of things that are unique in the international game compared to the regular domestic season.
Playing for your country is a matter of big pride and frankly, it’s the dream of many football players when they start out their careers.
Although we have no doubts about any player’s commitment and passion while playing for a club, one has to confess that the drive and ambitions are a notch higher when players play for their country.
Another minor distinction is that your teammates change and so does your manager. So naturally, the tactics and style of play are vastly different from what you would practice at you the club.
And in more trivial matters the jersey you wear while going onto the pitch also changes!
Now the jersey part although a trivial matter is worth looking at, as it forms the identity of a nation.
Everyone knows that Brazil will be yellow and England will be white. That is the perpetual identity associated with the national football team, and, in a broader sense, with the country itself.
So, let’s discuss the matter of international kits in football and figure out which are the best ones in terms of style, swagger, and importance!
A list of best international kits in football!
Netherlands, home – Nike
Nike has ditched the blue embellishments on the Netherlands’ home jersey in favor of the sleek orange and black combination that has served them well in the past. The v-neck collar is a nice nod to their Euro 2000 uniform.
Italy, home – Puma
This is an instant favorite thanks to the modest pattern, simple dark blue-collar, and classic Azzurro color.
When the Italians line up for World Cup 2022 this winter (if they do), they will once again be the best-dressed team in a major international competition.
Nigeria, home – Nike
Nike was always going to have to come up with something exceptional to follow up on the incredible Nigeria kit they created for the 2018 World Cup. That’s exactly what they did.
The green pattern is based on Agbada, a style of flowing wide-sleeved robe used by men throughout West Africa. The design is fantastic, and the centered Nigeria crest and contrasting crew neck collar round off the look wonderfully.
Norway, away – Nike
Norway’s home jersey is a fine, but somewhat simple Nike template, however, their away jersey is fantastic. It has a white base with an icy-blue image on it and is framed by a darker blue trim on the collar and sleeves.
It is, however, considerably detracted by the player issue, which features a white back, allowing the numbers and names to be seen more clearly on television. The replica version sold in stores does not have this feature, and it is all the better for it.
Croatia, away – Nike
Croatia is constitutionally required to be included because they just do not make ugly kits, although we’re not talking about their home jersey for once.
When they play away, they generally wear a blue and red shirt, but Nike has gone for a black and grey pixelated effect on this occasion. The same color scheme didn’t work so well on Liverpool’s second shirt, but the Croats appear new with this design.
